I would expect an external recruiter would want to get you in at the highest number (within budget) because they get paid as a percent of your salary.

Boy you are one cocky SOB. So far, i haven’t learned anything new in your book. Yet you sit so high on your horse like you hold the holy grail to personal finance… HA!
Now that i think of it, maybe you’re right. Maybe your readers are dumber then a bag of hammers because half your book IS all common sense. The only thing i’ve gotten out of it so far was the information on IRA’s other then that, it’s all been heard before and done before.
