Valerie’s Family 34 “Liars and Other Strangers” 9/28/87 Pt 1
In the second episode without Valerie Harper, notice how little you see Sandy around. I’ve long theorized that this was one of the episodes that was shot while Valerie was in a contract negotiation breakdown with the producers before she was fired. When Sandy Duncan was hired, I believe they filmed a few filler scenes just to include her in the episode. In this episode, David partners up with Candace Avery, the newest girl in school, to work on a Spanish assignment together. The next morning when Rich and Burt grill David about his evening with Candace, he leads them to believe that the two of them went “all the way” together.
